Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are one step closer to becoming man and wife.
The wedding festivities kicked off with a traditional Nandi puja at the actress's Bengaluru residence.
According to tradition, the Nandi puja is performed at the groom and bride's houses, a few days before the wedding. A coconut placed on top of a kalash (copper pot) filled with holy water marks the start of the wedding celebrations. The filled kalash symbolises a vessel full of 'amrit' or nectar of life.
The first invitation to the wedding is offered to God to seek his blessings. This ceremony is performed to bless the couple with a life of abundance, good health and longevity.
Deepika's stylist Shaleena Nathani shared inside pictures from the Nandi puja, and the bride-to-be looks resplendent in a saffron salwar suit designed by Sabyasachi.
Ranveer and Deepika will exchange garlands on November 14 and 15. Although they have not revealed their wedding destination, speculation is rife that they have booked the breathtaking Villa del Balbianello at Lake Como in Italy.
