After winning hearts with the trailer, the makers of Simmba released the first song from the film on Thursday. Titled “Aankh Marey”, the song features Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan who show off their moves on the peppy track. For the unversed, “Aankh Marey” is a recreated version of a song of the same name from 1996 film Tere Mere Sapne starring Arshad Warsi and Simran. Interestingly, Arshad himself appears in the song with the Golmaal gang, including Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Khemu and Shreyas Talpade.
The song, composed by Tanishk Bagchi and written by Shabbir Ahmed, has been sung by Neha Kakkar, Mika Singh and Kumar Sanu.
Releasing on December 28, Simmba is a true-blue Bollywood entertainer that will see Ranveer as a cop for the first time.
The film, which is Ranveer’s first outing as an actor after getting married to Deepika Padukone, also marks the actor’s first collaboration with Rohit Shetty.
Simmba marks the second outing of Sara Ali Khan, who is making her debut with Abhishek Kapoor directorial Kedarnath.
